Matt Cutts is a computer scientist who works for Google, and in June 2014 I found his TED Talk called Try something new for 30 days.

I didn’t find it by accident. I was purposely searching for tips and tricks on how to reach my goals, improve myself, and stay motivated.

At 26, I had hit a rut. When I wasn't working or going to school, I was trading novelty and effort for convenience. Dates with my boyfriend turned into late night TV and falling asleep on the couch. Girls night stopped because all my girls lived out of town. I spent my free time on the Internet, lost in YouTube and Tumblr, and reading web comics. I carved a butt-grove into my computer chair. I watched Jurassic Park and Alien a lot.

Then I saw the light, and it is called the 30 Day Challenge.

Like Matt describes in his video, a 30 Day Challenge is doing something for 30 consecutive days. The concept is simple: spend one month completely devoted to one thing you really want to do, and do it without fail

Sounds hard? Yeah, it does.

Is it hard? Yeah, it is.

This is my website, Out of the Comfort Zone, my online blog slash how-to guide to challenging yourself and living like you're meant to.

The blog follows me through each challenge, starting with introductions, then updatesWant something more specific? Find out how the month went, and get some tips in the challenges. And for anyone interested, there's a short bio on the the challenger page.

This concept is purely experimental, and I'll appreciate any advice, ideas, or constructive criticism... because frankly I'm not sure what I'm doing with this yet. You can email me at kaela.morin@gmail.com, or use the comment box on every page. Go ahead. I'd love to hear from you!
